habits to shed during this journey:

  1. to put by or away as for safekeeping or future use, usually in a secret place (usually followed by away ): The squirrel stashes away nuts for winter.
  2. something put away or hidden: a stash of gold coins buried in the garden.
  3. a place in which something is stored secretly; hiding place; cache
  4. slang . a supply of hidden drugs (for me these are “comfort buys”).

retail therapy

Shopping with the primary purpose of improving the buyer’s mood or disposition. Often seen in people during periods of depression or transition, it is normally a short-lived habit. Items purchased during periods of retail therapy are sometimes referred to as “comfort buys” .

Consumerism is a social and economic order based on fostering a desire to purchase goods and services in even greater amounts.

stash-isfaction (yes I made it up)

1. The fulfillment or gratification of the desire, need, or appetite for stash, balanced by the time, energy and commitment to use items in the stash within a reasonable timeline.

 financial freedom

“happens when your wants and your needs are exceeded by your passive income.”

an extension of simplicity — not only do you take things from complex to simple, but you try to get rid of anything that’s unnecessary. All but the essential.”~ quoted from Leo Babauta
