3. a place in which something is stored secretly; hiding place; cache
4. slang . a supply of hidden drugs (for me these are “comfort buys”).

retail therapy

Shopping with the primary purpose of improving the buyer’s mood or disposition. Often seen in people during periods of depression or transition, it is normally a short-lived habit. Items purchased during periods of retail therapy are sometimes referred to as “comfort buys” .

consumerism

Consumerism is a social and economic order based on fostering a desire to purchase goods and services in even greater amounts.

1. The fulfillment or gratification of the desire, need, or appetite for stash, balanced by the time, energy and commitment to use items in the stash within a reasonable timeline.
