day 6: cheating in the linen closet

This one is cheating because it only took about 10 minutes. My Mom went through and culled our linen closet when they last visited. The catch was that the 2 piles of baby stuff, and the table linens that we decided I could live without, were still piled in my upper hall. I did go through the baby things and set several handmade things to the side.

I found this lovely baby blanket, that my Grandmother made for my Dad over 70 years ago. She gifted it to me during a moment of lucidity before her dementia became a more constant state. I would love to find a unique way to display it, as every article I have read about vintage textiles advises you to wrap them in tissue and stash them away again. Any suggestions?

Now the remainder are piled in my staging room for next week’s transport to the Mount Seymour United Thrift Shop. On that note, this morning I made my first visit to donate this week’s stash items. The Mount Seymour United Thrift Shop is only a few minutes from my house, and if felt terrific to drop off two big bags of my clothes.
