kaffe baby quilt

Several years ago, I had mentally filed away this pattern, Storytime Squares Quilt, on the Made by Rae blog, as a quick baby gift option.

We had two babies born to friends within a 2 week period, so it was a perfect pattern to use. Unfortunately, my just in time delivery approach didn’t leave time to photograph one of the quilts before it was delivered. I had used scraps of Far, Far, Away II to complete that quilt, however my scraps were only 4.5″ squares. I inserted extra, 1/2″ finished, inside and outside borders, and adjusted the sashing to make up the difference.

The second quilt, shown above with it’s adorable recipient, followed the pattern exactly, and used large scraps of Kaffe Fassett stripes with shot cotton solids for the sashing.
