Post image for library dresses for santa visit

I am sure I will be devastated if/when the girls outgrow our tradition of new fancy dresses for their annual Santa visit. This year I used beautiful Westfalen fabrics, purchased from Fraulein Stephi’s Etsy shop. Our local quilt shop, Creative Edge Quilting & Sewing shop in North Vancouver, carried lovely coordinating gingham fabrics from Stoffe, and of course, my favourite Kaffe stripes too.

The modifications I made to the Oliver and S Library Dress pattern were:

  • lined the bodice with the Stoffe gingham fabric instead of putting facings in.
  • used the Kaffe stripe cut on the bias, to trim all around where the front and back bodice and skirt pieces came together. I also trimmed the sleeve cuffs.
  • added button details to secure the cuffs.

UPDATE: I was flattered to have these featured as part of the flickr feature on the Oliver and S blog.
